Both methods pump material under the slab. Mudjacking uses a heavy cement slurry and larger holes; polyurethane uses small, penny-sized holes and a lightweight foam. Foam cures faster, is waterproof, and doesn’t add a bunch of weight to already weak soil. That’s why we prefer it for sidewalks, pool decks, patios, and settled driveways.
Water washing out base soils (gutters, sprinklers, pool overflow)
Poor or uncompacted fill when the house was built
Tree roots changing moisture in the soil
Clay soils shrinking/swelling
Heavy loads at driveway entries We can correct the symptom (the sunken slab) and advise you on fixing the cause (drainage, grading, root barrier).
